Independent Review

In 2008, OLHI's Board of Directors commissioned an independent review and report of its operations pursuant to the Framework for Collaboration (“the Framework”). The Framework is a set of guidelines designed to govern the operations of the industry sponsored OmbudServices, including OLHI. Click Here to review the Framework Guidelines.

The independent review was conducted by Leslie H. Macleod & Associates  whose principal, Leslie H. Macleod, is a legal professor specializing in alternative dispute resolution with no ties to the life and health insurance industry.

The independent review culminated in a Report entitled “The Next Generation:  An Independent Review of The Canadian Life and Health Insurance OmbudService” (“the Report”). As contemplated by the Framework, OLHI prepared a Response to the Report. Click Here to review the Report and OLHI's Response.
